Barking News Hermanus, Issue #001
March 08, 2013

The whales have left Hermanus a few weeks ago, but will return June of 2013 again to bless us with their magnificent wonder.

Barking Beach Cottage has undergone some minor renovations to make sure that the quality of your stay is not compromised ever. We do ask that our guest treat the property with respect while enjoying their stay.

The December holiday is already long gone and yet again we are preparing for Easter weekend and another school holiday. But if you want to miss the holidaymakers now is the time to book your break away from home and work. All dogs of all sizes are welcome and we do provide 3 large dog beds for your use at the house. It's quiet again early mornings at the beach, a great time for the doggie walker and nature lover to go for a walk on the paths along the beach or if you like to soak up some of our last summer sun join the rest of Sandbaai late mornings and early afternoons.

Markets to visit over weekends while you stay at the cottage.

FOOD AND WINE MARKET

Also on Saturdays, come rain or shine, the Food and Wine Market at the state-of-the-art Hermanuspietersfontein Wine Cellar , which can be found in the Hemel-en-Aarde Village, offers free wine tasting and unique gourmet-style food stalls in a lively, elegant atmosphere.

Visit their market courtyard from 09:00 to 13:00.

FISHERMAN'S VILLAGE CRAFT MARKET

Reminiscent of times gone by, the Fisherman’s Village Craft Market, on Lemm’s Corner in the heart of Hermanus, bustles with activity on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) from 08:30 – 15:00.

Browse for original arts and creative crafts amidst the town’s rich, well-preserved fishing village heritage.

We recently visited "Heaven and Earth Trails" and had a wonderful experience with a 15km horse back out ride on their picturesque farm. This is really an activity I would recommend for both novice and experienced riders.
